Merry Christmas
The team at Smile would like to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
I would just like to take a few minutes to thank all supporters of the Smile Foundation in 2011. It has been an exciting year with some real tangible results from everyone’s hard work. We now have over 200 business supporters all pulling together to make a real visible impact here in Hull & East Yorkshire.
We have achieved some amazing things since we were launched in April 2009, including:
As a team our supporters, trustees, volunteers and suppliers have…
· Helped House of Light, a post natal depression charity in our region retain and develop further services
· Helped 60 Children with Down syndrome at Downright Special to continue to grow and develop their educational skills through resources and pastoral support
· Helped 500 children attend the areas rotary disability games
· Helped Hornsea Inshore Rescue save lives
· Helped to secure over £100,000 of funding in 2010 and 2011
· Generated over 4000 volunteer hours
· Delivered over 2000 people at our innovative Devils Kitchen events
· Provided a Christmas Party, presents and lots of cuddles and smiles for over 200 children
· Provided tens of thousands of pounds worth of resources and skills to benefit our region
In 2012 we will…
- Provide Sunshine House with a state of the art Forget me not and family room
- Create additional services for people with memory loss in Hull
- Send 14 children from Humberside to the Olympics!
- Help families in distress gain the support they need at vital times
- Provide key resources to develop small local charities in our region
- Create unique innovative marketing opportunities for small local charities
- Serve oodles!!! Of great meal on our Devils Kitchen nights
- Launch Little Devils Kitchen to encourage healthy eating and physical activity in 9-11 year olds across our region

Invite you all to launch our new offices fully supported by our amazing landlord Gosschalks Solicitors
Most importantly we will continue to grow stronger relationships with the business community of Hull & East Yorkshire, who have made everything Smile does come to life. We are extremely lucky to have some truly outstanding businesses willing to back, support and get stuck into our charity projects that do really make a difference here in Hull & East Yorkshire.
Thank you to you all who have supported in what ever way this year and to those of you who have not been involved in creating hundreds of Smiles across our region then please get in touch and we would love to work with you in 2012!
The office will be closed over the Christmas period (due to exhaustion and the Smile team travelling to the North Pole to help out thos poor elves) from Wednesday 22nd December and will reopen again on Tuesday 3rd January.
